Coit tower

Footwork and lots of that got us up that hill to see Coit tower. Now,when you use the verb “walk” in San Francisco over long distances, you are either flat broke or just a victim for punishment.Because SF is incredibly steep!! We did walk a lot,but also caught trolleys on some days.

Getting up “the hill” is still good exercise :

Quiet street near Coit tower stairs.

Heave,ho! But that is just one stairway; they were numerous!!

Passing over commemorative name plaques…

The Christopher Columbus statue and Coit tower.

A historical plaque explaining very briefly, the history of tower. You can pay an admission fee and go up the elevator(Whew!) to enjoy the view of the city.

Don’t miss pictures taken from on top, right after this post! Bye for now 😉

  1. When I lived in SF during the early 80s, the gay guys used to humoristically call this tower “coitus”. I can’t see it without thinking of them and they’re wonderful sense of humor.

  2. Bonjour Barbara~

    LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these photographs!

A friend of mine use to visit SF often, and would talk about how STEEP the streets were. This is one place you don’t ever want to leave your emergency brake off on you car, while parking – HA!

OMG, Dedenes’ comment made me HOWL. How funny!

    Great post, my friend!

    Have a beautiful day!

Ronnie- Hello buddy! Thank you so much.We really deserved our eyeful more than those people that drove up.Heck,we used foot power!! We were even the only ones going up to the tower too when we went. We had it all to ourselves 🙂 xoxo

  5. Hi Leesa,
We both love SF! Before coming here, I had wanted to come for years. So, when we finally were here it was like being a kid in a candy shop. YEAH!! Yes, this is a fascinating city with so much to see and do. I love it!! We did 5 days the last time but it went by in the blink of an eye…
You should take Alex next time! I think that he would enjoy this city.
