  1. Hello photodreamin,

Thanks so much for your reply! As I wasn’t sure how to make contact with people on this site or vice versa.. I’m a UK expat (from NI), and wish I had paid more attention in French class at school (about 30 moons ago!!). Well done to you on your moving to France…I’m sure you’re well integrated into French life at this stage. Yes, I have written a few things before: newspaper articles and a chapter for a book – but never a blog. So was unsure where to start…or even how to write! The brew of tea is on the table at the moment: the new teapot is serving me really well 🙂

Met some more French people today and now I must get down to some study, and do the homework for my French lesson tomorrow. Thanks so much for your reply, it’s very much appreciated 🙂

  2. Hello red teapot 😉
Welcome to my blog home. I am Barbara. I love photographing and wherever my hubby & I(or myself alone) goes/go, there are always pics.

I think that “destiny” put you on my path( note. to my friends: I saw this blog on the wp forum in the “showcase” section). This is a blog about a new expat in France.

You are very welcome for my comments. I know so well what its like to be a newbie, anxious and feeling different.

France is a part of the portraits because this is home base.

Thank you for your encouragement and I hope to see you soon 🙂

    1. Hello again photodreamin,

Unfortunately the spot of radio work will be unpaid (voluntary) as it is a station with only about 2 paid members of staff (manager & technician)…but it will get Madame out of the house, interact with locals, and hopefully improve her French too. Still applying for paid work, but as you say, it is extremely difficult to obtain – but hopefully something under the banner of ‘Teaching English’ will come up soon..

I love taking photos too…I only have a pocketsized digital Canon (not an SLR one), but it has served me pretty well over the past 5 years or so.. I look forward to seeing more of your photos!

      Many thanks Barbara,
      Katie: theteapotperspective 🙂

  3. Hi Katie,
I am so glad to know about your new work.
I always say that even voluntary work is “opening the door”. You keep busy and get to know other people. You will see where that leads your French! Gaining knowledge bu practical use is quite different that sitting down with book & DVD repeating phrases.

I am glad that I can count you as a photo friend. I just love doing this, but, I enjoy most travel photography. Though I have taken many a home, family, friends and other pics.
You are welcome; I will be sharing many more.

Check out my archives; they are filling up 🙂

All the best and see you soon.
