A motley crew

This was my favorite picture taken in Julian:

We crossed paths with these costumed men who willingly posed for passersby. A touch of sepia gives them an antique look.

    1. Hi Valerie,
Yes, you are right; it felt like in we were in a Western! I even saw a few other costumed people on the other side of the street. But, no luck; they were too far from me and walking too quickly! This all makes for a wonderful visit. Perhaps if you asked your own “father Xmas” very nicely, who knows? You too, can fly to Southern California!

  1. AWESOME photo, Barb!

    LOVE the sepia tone!

And yes, what a motley crew indeed. This photo reminded me of the TV show Gunsmoke – HA!

Have a great day, my friend!

  2. Hi Ronnie,

Thank you! OK; a motley crew, but I think that they didn’t want us to see their good side.
It was a great photo op, indeed!!
    See ya, pardner x .

  3. Hi Barbara,

That shot reminds me of a certain Wild West bar we visited in Prescott AZ, where there were dudes dressed as cowboys and a pianist playing tunes on a tinkly old piano. Great stuff! Thanks for the memory jogger with this one – they look a real mean bunch! Who knows, they may be respectable members of the community in their other lives!

And thank you so much for the posting and the link to The Moment – good to have your encouragement & support. You were my inspiration to start this new blog after being a guest photographer on your blog!

Wishing you & D all the best for the new year.

    1. Hi Joyce,
Oh my goodness, you had your wild west experiences, too! It is all for fun and these gents could very likely be the most repectable citizens of the town! They were great at what they did and I got lucky being there at the right time :).

You are very welcome for my support. It is my pleasure and it is a good feeling to see that I have planted a “seed” in Joyce’s backyard. If friends can inspire friends than that is a great gift that we give.

Happy New Year wishes to you and Barry.
