Nan Nan

I  already talked  about the “Nan Nan houses” in a previous post here . It is only fitting that I present Nan Nan:

This is a picture that is in Kathy’s home.

Just for the info, this is an old type of photograph called a tintype photo. The image is actually set on a piece of metal.

“The song is ended, but the melody lingers on…” Irving Berlin

xoxo to you, Nan Nan.

  1. Lovely photograph of your Nan Nan’s photo, Barb!

It reminds me of a cameo!

    Thank you for sharing.

Have a wonderful Wednesday, dear friend!

  2. Hey there Ronnie,
Thank you! I have this picture in b&w, but not like this. Yes, it has a cameo look to it. I believe(Kathy can probably say) that it was taken when Nan Nan was still single, My grandparents were married in Philly in October 1919. It is curious that Nan Nan really looks like any of us 4 cousins. But, that is genetics for you!

Happy Wednesday to ya too! xo

    1. Hi Bijoux,
Nan Nan was older than your Grandmother( 1891) but, they lived the same era.
Nan Nan did have nice wavy hair. I didn’t inherit it, though!

  3. Hi Mel,
I think that was fortunate, even if the times were together were rare(seperated by distance),the love was definately there. In our family, we like our Nan Nan’s vintage items. Many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren have objects today in our homes that were at Nan Nan’s home. That is keeping the love alive.
