La place des arts- Montreal

I dressed up La place des arts in black and white:

I love the big spaces and curvy lamposts. Photogenic indeed!

  1. Well, you know how much I adore black and white photography, so I REALLY enjoyed these images, Barb!

These are the coolest lamp post’s!

You caught this photo at the prefect time of day too, because it was light enough to see the buildings, but dark enough to have the lights turned on.

    Well done, my friend!

  2. Hi Ronnie,
Thanks very much. I took these when we were coming out of the subway station that is also called la place des arts. We were in a wandering mood and went up those stairs. I immediately enjoyed the perspective looking up.
It was twilight and the photos were bluish. I decided that I just wanted to tone it down to b&w.
    Et voilà!
    xo to ya in Philly.

  3. Whoa…..how cool are THOSE! And I love the looking up the stairs perspective.

That middle one–with the background buildings with different shades and reflections–awesome. Toss in the brick and the squiggly lampposts…. Somehow made it a Dr. Suess world for me. LOL

Very cool. Very dramatic in B & W! But NOW I’m curious about that blue cast of dusk!

    1. Hi Mel,
You gave me a good laugh with your remark about the squiggly lzmposts that brought you into a Dr Seuss world. EXACTLY!! I was very attracted to these!! It made the scene far more photogenic then if the lamposts were straight and precise.
The architect may have been weaned on the good Dr! I loved his books as a child
